Shipping & Delivery

Reliable delivery is the backbone of the PigeonPost experience. Here's how it works.

Schedule

Letters are posted on the 1st and 15th of every month via Australia Post. If a send date falls on a weekend or public holiday, letters go out the next business day.

Your first letter ships on the next scheduled date after your order is confirmed. For example, if you order on March 10, the first letter posts March 15.

Domestic (Australia)

  • Metro areas: 2-3 business days
  • Regional areas: 3-5 business days
  • Remote areas: 5-7 business days

Tracking is not available for standard letter post, but we maintain proof-of-posting records for every dispatch.

International

International postage is included in your subscription price — no hidden fees.

  • New Zealand: 5-10 business days
  • USA, Canada, UK, Europe: 7-14 business days
  • Asia, rest of world: 10-21 business days

Customs delays are rare for letter-format mail but can occasionally add a few days.

Address Changes

Moving house? Just email us at hello@pigeonpost.example with the new address. We'll update the mailing list for the next dispatch.

Please notify us at least 2 weeks before the next send date (1st or 15th) to ensure the change takes effect in time.

Aged Care & Facilities

We deliver to aged care facilities, retirement villages, hospitals, and PO Boxes. Please include the facility name and room/unit number in the address field.

Many facilities have mail rooms or reception desks that distribute mail. We recommend notifying the facility's lifestyle/activities coordinator so they know to look out for the letters.

Undeliverable Mail

If a letter is returned undeliverable, we'll email you immediately and hold subsequent letters until we have a corrected address. No letters are lost — we re-ship once the address is updated.

Sustainability

Our envelopes and paper are FSC-certified. Stamps are standard Australia Post. We minimize packaging — each letter goes in its own envelope, no outer plastic wrapping. The keepsakes (maps, postcards, pressed flora) are paper-based and biodegradable.
